Casual Community Service Field Officer
Kempsey Community Corrections
Location – Kempsey, Northern NSW
Employment – Casual, up to 28 hours per week
Pay scale - $46.35 per hour
Your role
As a casual Community Service Field Officer, you will play a key role in supervising and managing offenders serving community service orders while coordinating the logistics and operations of community service worksites to ensure safety, compliance and accountability. What you’ll do
As part of the Community Corrections Kempsey team, you will supervise offenders during community service, ensuring their safety and adherence to safety protocols. You will direct tasks, monitor behaviour, and ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with community agencies and provide transportation for offenders to and from worksites. You will be part of a supportive team committed to enhancing community safety and promoting offender rehabilitation within a dynamic and engaging environment.
What we’re looking for
Strong ability to supervise and manage offenders, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and conduct policies.
Solid understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices.
Exceptional communication skills for effectively liaising with community agencies and stakeholders.
Proficient in transporting offenders and coordinating logistics for community service worksites.
Essential requirements
- Ability to drive official vehicles and possess an appropriate level of Driver's Licence to meet all job requirements (require a Class LR licence).
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain prior to commencing.
This is casual employment under Section 43 of the Government Sector Employment Act 2013. Ability to work up to 38 hours per week as required, during the week and weekends. Successful applicants for these positions will be required to drive a group of offenders to and from designated worksites and supervise work. A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required, and it is essential for the applicants to be fingerprinted.

Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce reoffending and create safer communities. We house remand and sentenced inmates in correctional centres and supervise offenders serving orders in the community.
CSNSW provides reports and advice to courts and releasing/parole authorities and assesses offenders in the community and in custody for relevant interventions to reduce their risks of reoffending. CSNSW works in partnership with other government and non-government justice and human services agencies to support victims, facilitate restorative justice and promote reintegration.
